Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell have been married for a little over a year, and the Emily in Paris star couldn’t be happier. In an interview with E! News at the 16th Annual GO Campaign Gala on October 8, 2022, The Blind Side actress shared a glimpse into her newlywed life with the filmmaker.
“We can kind of conquer anything,” she told the publication. "We've been through so many changes globally, personally, and to be able to have a partner next to you that makes you laugh in times when you need it the most and helps you emotionally get through things, like moving to a foreign country for four months. I just feel so grateful that I have someone next to me to be able to accomplish that and your best friend with you all the time.”
In September 2022, on the actress’s last day of shooting Emily in Paris, she shared a handwritten note from McDowell, which he penned when she first started filming the hit Netflix show. “Have a great first day, Emily,” the note said. “You show those high heels who’s boss!” Along with the photo, Collins wrote, “From the first day until the last day, thank you for supporting and encouraging me @CharlieMcDowell. It's almost time to hang up the heels again."
The happy couple got tied the knot on September 4, 2021, in Colorado. "I've never wanted to be someone's someone more than I do yours, and now I get to be your wife,” she posted on Instagram along with a photo from her magical day.
The two were first linked in 2019 after Collins made their relationship official on Instagram. A little over a year later, McDowell popped the question. They recently celebrated their one-year anniversary on September 4, 2022.
